It's pretty amazing to watch in real time as 78 year old Donald Trump has the realization, for the first time in his life, that national boundaries are historical and social constructions.

The incessant lying, the "alternate reality" Trump et al. have been manufacturing for years: Probably some of them actually believe what they're saying. But surely not everyone. When pondering this I always return to the question "How do they live with themselves?" It's a sincere question.
