This isn't even designed to wind people up and hope they share it. It's just an exploitation of Birmingham Live's privileged position on Google Discover/Apple News. The whole point is to deceive people into clicking. An industry built on total contempt for its audience.
Another datapoint for @jim.londoncentric.media's list of misleading Reach headlines:

"Alert for UK households buying Cathedral City cheese at M&S or Tesco"

The "alert" is that... other cheeses came out ahead in an independent taste test.

A taste test has revealed Cathedral City is actually outscored by other varieties

We are so far through the looking glass that the man who tried to overthrow an election becomes president, the people who attacked the Capitol are turned into martyrs, & it's the BBC that gets punished - cheered on by the worst news outlets in the UK & the two most dishonest politicians of our age.
It’s not at all clear to me how the BBC can do any kind of serious journalism if its top two bosses can be forced to quit over such an obviously confected scandal. There is no substantive error here. How can the BBC report on Trump, or Farage, or anyone else, in these circumstances?

It's fascinating how there are still replies on this, and indeed on every post about the decline of the Tories, with people on the left and centre-left people going 'good'. Honestly, I don't know how big of a warning sign you need that the death of the Tory party is bad for your politics!
Removing her will be an act of mercy at this point. It's getting unbearable to watch her flail around.
Well, at least that's over now. (The speech. Her leadership has between one to seven months left to run.)

Labour is scared of its own shadow

The Tories are in disarray

The far left keeps politically exploding when they try to organise anything

The Lib Dem’s are appealing to their base

The Greens are confident but small

And amid that a vacuum is opening up, leading to the current situation

(The increase is mentioned way down the article.)

Seeing this in the church my family go to/run. Apologists for the likes of Anderson just because he speaks about his "faith". More and more of that church are vocally leaning towards Reform. This follows some UK churches being influenced by and involved with Right wing (Trump supporting) US churches
#ChristianValues 😒

(Still, excellent survey research and interpretation by Stuart Fox, Ekaterina Kolpinskaya, Steven Pickering and Dan Stevens).
New polling: Reform is winning over Britain’s Christian support

On the trophy of the club WC, it says:

“The golden era of club football: the era of the Club World Cup. The pinnacle of all club competition. Inspired by FIFA President Gianni Infantino, the competition, first staged in 2025, eclipses any precedent.”

I am not making this up.

I learned yesterday that my elderly parents weren't going to renew their house insurance "because it's all now online and too daunting."

Suffice it to say I said I'd help them sort it, but I wonder how many elderly are losing services because the Internet is scary/impersonal to them.

Thing is, this was an ad campaign *aimed at women* and it was iirc astonishingly successful at increasing sales to women (which is why it ran for so long).

Irony wasn’t invented recently!
It’s astonishing in retrospect that Yorkie launched its ‘not for girls’ campaign in the 2000s and it persisted until 2012. Even as a 10 year old I found it really weird.
