Every time a media merger happens, one word tends to be overused: monopoly.

That much money financing games by actual game developers would have financed 150+ of the highest budget AAA games, and the several orders of magnitude more jobs to produce them. Instead it was burned failing to produce advertiser-safe Second Life.

Movies aren't content and they shouldn't be treated as digital coupons by a studio that they can wave around to people. They're works of art that deserve to belong in the cinema and also be put on home video collections to be cherished. That's what makes them special.

I have zero hopes for the Netflix/Warner Bros deal. I know it's gonna be another disastrous merger if it goes through and knowing how anti-theater/home video Netflix is, I know they're gonna do even more damage to the film landscape. I don't like it. I hate it, I just hate it.

I got the Euro Warner Bros 'South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut' 4K UHD a few days ago. First half minute is upscaled from SD because WB didn't rebuild the studio logo transition.
I still recommend WB over Paramount because Paramount audio is out of sync.
