Sometimes called the ‘pilgrims door’ this narrow doorway in Gloucester Cathedral may be from the 14th century.

French fashion on the Roman frontier some 2,000 years ago!

A stylish and expensive lady’s leather toe-thong sandal made in Gaul (modern France), found at Vindolanda fort in northern England. It is stamped with the maker’s name ‘Lucius Aebutius Thales’.

I don't want to be on ghastly x anymore but it's where a lot of my sales come from so this post is a brazen request for shares to spread the word about my work on a kinder platform that isn't run by a dangerous megalomaniac!

Exciting news! We’re thrilled to announce that tapir Yuna gave birth to a rare and endangered Malayan tapir calf Sunday night. The newborn, covered in distinctive white spots and stripes resembling a fuzzy walking watermelon, is only the second tapir born in our 120-year history.

I’ve decided I’m going to take over Lancashire, own it, level it, get all its inhabitants to relocate to Wales, Cumbria or wherever (not Yorkshire!), re-name it God’s Own Country, plant millions of acres of rhubarb and build a Betty’s Tea Room on every street corner.
That’ll sort the buggers!! 👍 👀

There are too many reasons to feel sad this New Year.
Some days the rain just won’t stop falling.
But flood waters recede.
And good people are everywhere, when you look.
Be kind x

The oldest preserved #candles north of the Alps. They were made from beeswax around 1,400 years ago. Found in the early #medieval burial site in Oberflacht. The damp environment preserved the candles in good condition.
