"I was Marty Baron’s deputy for most of his tenure and never heard of an instance where Jeff Bezos interfered in the work of the newsroom. Despite having extensive business before the government, he never flinched."

Bezos today is a different story:

Mass layoffs undermine his promises to protect a great American institution.

Just do it! For the good of the sport and, perhaps, for the rest of the world appalled by our politics.
I genuinely think boycotting the World Cup is some of the strongest leverage the Europeans have.
A German soccer federation executive committee member says it's time to consider a World Cup boycott because of the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump.

A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!

It’s come to this: “Catholic members of the US armed forces could in good conscience consider disobeying orders to attack Greenland if such orders were issued, according to Archbishop Timothy Broglio, the bishop responsible for the pastoral care of US military personnel.”
Military archbishop: Troops could refuse orders on Greenland
Speaking to Britain's Sunday program on BBC, Archbishop Timothy Broglio reiterated that conscience could permit refusal of an unjust military order.

Trump and Rubio are doing such a great job running Venezuela that the U.S. is now warning Americans to leave Venezuela to escape armed militias.

And they want companies to go to Venezuela? No way companies will do that.

Trump’s Venezuela operation is a disaster.

Facts are a damned stubborn thing!
HERE Jack Smith sets out Trump’s direct culpability and complicity in the federal election interference case, including January 6th:

What I have said since Trump rode down the escalator for his first campaign: Don’t tell voters who you are against, tell thema what you are for!
Fighting against Trump isn’t enough. It's time for Democrats to show America what they're fighting FOR — and embrace the fresh, new voices leading the way. Watch. https://youtu.be/Uzc57eD3cWI?si=65LK4EXG7o-_BtmU

Do you think it’s a coincidence that Trump said today he would soon talk with Bolsonaro? Of course, it would be much easier to take that call if Brazil’s presidential felon escaped to claim asylum in the US Embassy.
So glad we respect for the rule of law in Brazil!
BREAKING: Jair Bolsonaro has been arrested.
Brazil's Supreme Court ordered his transfer to prison after he allegedly tried to break his electronic ankle monitor. Bolsonaro admitted to police he used a "soldering iron" on the device, claiming he did it "out of curiosity."

Before the midterms of 1866, President Andrew Johnson called his congressional opponents traitors and said they should be hanged.

Voters were so profoundly moved by his words... that they gave his opponents a supermajority in Congress, and the nation got the Fourteenth Amendment.

Certainly DOJ will interview former employees and vendors who serviced Epstein properties, and subpoena any CCTV video from his properties as part of its “investigation”. There are bound to be MANY workers who can say who was there and what went on. /s
Murphy: "It's clearly the biggest scandal in presidential history. He wouldn't be acting this way if he wasn't so deeply worried about what's in those files. What we've already seen is immensely incriminating. Clearly Trump was at the center of a child sex ring ... the scandal could bring him down."

This is, unsurprisingly, nonsensical. Is he suggesting eliminating health insurance and giving people a few thousand dollars instead? And then when they get a cancer diagnosis they just go bankrupt?

He is so unserious. That's why we are shut down and Americans know it.

This is what oligarchy looks like:

If you're Elon Musk, the richest man alive, Tesla gives you a $1 trillion pay package & Trump gives you a huge tax break.

If you're a poor kid on SNAP, Trump appeals a court decision that would have prevented you from going hungry.

Obscene.

It's well past time for the Apple App Store and Microsoft Store to take Twitter down. The site is seemingly exercising zero content moderation at all, and the owner of the site is reinstating neo-Nazi accounts that publish dangerous information.

No solidarity. Reporters let Trump talk this way to a woman reporter and then clamor to get their own question answered. He used to do it to April Ryan, Yamiche Alcindor and Abby Phillip.

And that’s why he controls media. No solidarity.

And his fellow members of the Cuban emigré community who had their temporary protected status revoked by his Dear Leader should never let him forget this either.
Marco Rubio could have stayed in the US Senate and, much like John McCain, provided some defense against Trump's authoritarianism, but instead he will be remembered as a coward who sold his soul.
