The part I hate about all of this is that nobody will be able to trust anything for a long long time. We had official numbers, we had scientific research, we had qualified people in positions that mattered. Now it's all up for grabs, all that shit is becoming meaningless.

It's my understanding that learned helplessness is psychological response to stressful situations beyond one's control.
If we're not teaching people how to think about small problems during their formative years, they're going to be helpless in adulthood when big things happen.
