So we’re just announcing foreign strikes and kidnappings of foreign leaders on social media now? No Congress. No explanation.

This is madness.

A Mad King has usurped the power of Congress—which represents the American people. That is, he has seized power that belongs to you and me collectively. He has declared war without consultation with or approval from Congress. And with no imminent threat. This is a profound betrayal of the republic.

The fact that Al Gore won the election has been so intensely memoryholed that it's sometimes felt like I imagined it. I don't want to say that or how the world might be different because we absolutely don't know, but the Court's antidemocratic actions should be acknowledged.
25 years ago today, SCOTUS elected George W Bush president of the United States by blocking completion of a voting canvass in Florida. A subsequent canvass by the Associated Press showed that Bush's rival, Al Gore, had won the race in Florida—and thus the contest for the presidency—by 700 votes.

unfortunately, this paragraph of the manifesto is not correct in any way whatsoever.

no existing thing sold as "AI" does this at all. the marketers lie that it does, and then it doesn't.

anyone signing this manifesto, ask them for the software that does this.

But there's an even more important reason...

Really struck by how brilliant a protesting tactic this is not just in terms of optics, but as a form of both privacy protection and discouragement of violence.

It masks your face and has to give pause to anyone thinking about beating you up.

The level of detail revealed by EarthCARE is amazing: as well as the usual change in vertical Doppler velocity as snow melts to rain, we can see the rising air in the eye wall! The imager also captures the 3D nature of the convective cells in the rain bands further out. More analysis to come...
