At last my long awaited #introduction, modified from my Mastodon profile.

I am of course Dennis Jernberg—the one from Seattle; the Swedish guy with my name always gets there first. I'm the author of the novel Spanner In The Works, currently in its final draft, to be published next year.

1/2
That's it for tonight. I'll do some more #amediting on #Spanner In The Works, but first to do some YouTube procrastination...

Later...

This is a particularly pathetic lie. He said he didn't want to play concerts because his audience is overwhelmingly Latino and he was worried about ICE harassing concert goers.

No disrespect to Bad Bunny but he's not going to meaningfully shift the demographics of people attending the Super Bowl.

Sure enough, the snowflakes are melting, loudly, exactly as I predicted (privately, alas).

By 60 you should be next level on all 3. Me:

1. Hundreds, more than enough for a novel series (which was originally going to be a webmanga, but oh well)
2. Many, unapologetically
3. A few doozies, and don't get me started
By age 30, you should have at least (2) original characters, (3) pieces of media you love apologetically despite obvious flaws, and (1) kink that takes at least thirty seconds to explain

Okay, I have a little #Atari7800+ #retrogame update: Installed the new experimental firmware, then played paddle games Avalanche & Super Circus Atari. My old 2600 paddles were still jerky, enough I had to apply gel lube twice. No more jitter now except mine. Super Circus Atari is hard...

@codyjohnston.bsky.social @somemorenews.bsky.social did a great segment on toxic nostalgia a few weeks ago and you’re not going to find anything better. They’re consistently great, deep and somehow, miraculously manage to be very funny while doing this. Better than anyone at it

I don't think we'll ever get another sentence which sums up everything the New York Times embodies quite like "Some legal experts have called it a crime to summarily kill civilians".
hey @nytimes.com: there is no counterpoint here. There are no credible legal experts who would EVER say that the US military has any right or authority to blow civilian craft out of the Caribbean and kill their crews from afar without any provocation. There is no other side to this question.

Re EA, its MBS/The Jared takeover & its eventual breakup, or more specifically its competitor WB Games: My wishful thinking is that WB Discovery will firesale it off to Atari. After all, didn't WB Games used to be Atari (Games)? It's the other half of Atari. Come on, Atari, you know what to do.

#Spanner #amediting update re Saudi comedy fest: I already had it as a running gag in Rock City Blues that Sia (my MC) used to date Pete Davidson. Now she's officially breaking up w/him in her VTuber persona: "Pete Davidson, you're dead to me! Take your funny bonesaw and get the fck away from me!"

Even the least rich of these people could buy a lovely place in a mid-sized city and live comfortably for the rest of their lives, but instead they're helping whitewash a regime that executes women who've been raped as adulterers so they can add another million to their heap.

"We are asking the Department of War to deploy to our cities" should be a statement that ends any Governor's political career.
Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry: "Tonight, we're sending the Department of War a request to send the National Guard, asking them to deploy the National Guard here in Louisiana into our cities like New Orleans and Baton Rogue and others."

Because Biden's always to blame, right? Also, Dear Leader's invading Portland to "cleanse" it of those evil commie "wokes" it's famous for.
Donald Trump’s decision to invade Portland on the basis of video from five years ago raises new questions about Joe Biden’s mental state.

The trend I have noticed, particularly emblematic in Klein’s recent output, is that it’s never a “what” that people are willing to sacrifice in order to win hypothetical elections, it’s always a “who,” and it’s never themselves.
