Here's my variant cover for Superman/Spider-Man #1 without the text, featuring the vehicle that climbs walls and the other one that punches. Because I knew what to do with my one chance to draw Spider-Man.

That's it, just saying watching the worst of us insult the best of us is goddamned annoying.

LOVE YOU, PUERTO RICO.

You are so much in my heart forever and thank you for welcoming us like family, I WILL NEVER FORGET.

One of the all-time great splash pages.

Note how Wrightson throws out the perspective. The woman in the foreground would have to standing in a hole. But that's what makes the composition.

Those Wein-Wrightsob Swamp Things, man. Each one a treasure. 2 years of pure comics joy.

I made a little comic celebrating something nice in the world that my family loves. It can also serve as a recommendation for those of you who are (or are considering becoming) parents. Finding joy where you can is a survival skill in bizarre and awful times. I ‘ll fix the typos (I just noticed!)

Sal Buscema, beloved comics artist, passes away

Sal Buscema, a veteran comics artist and part of the famed Buscema family of Marvel artists, has passed away. He was 89 years old when he died on Friday, and the news broke today, on what would have been his 90th birthday.

I spent the last year writing a book about the ridiculous demands of what it means to be masculine. But a guy who takes care of people who served our country, asks a woman “are you ok?” When she is in distress and looks out for his vulnerable neighbors seems like a pretty good role model for a man.

I was thinking about my favorite Twitter moment and it was definitely after the George Floyd murder, I started a pop-up charity for Black causes where comics creators donated art and more. We raised over $400,000. Not one cent for admin, all volunteer.

I declare "Give Back to @gailsimone.bsky.social Day."

Gail, as you reskeet this: what is the favorite thing you did in a comic that is only possible in a comics medium?

Fans: what is your favorite Gail moment (socials and or comics) and why?

I've heard Quesada tell this story in person, and it's on my list of basic anecdotes I also use to try and impart fundamentals of comic storytelling to folks. In my own idiom, it's space is meaning, but go read this - I'm excited to see Joe promise more like this.
