Re-upping the theory here.

Rollins is formerly the head of the America First Policy Institute who claims to be "bringing real change to people in a real Matthew 25 sense."

She is interested in using the powers of government to harm vulnerable people and promote her personal views.

The Illinois school code includes teaching LGBTQ+ history. It's a good thing. It's also the kind of thing that astroturfed ideologically motivated parent groups use for disinformation and to create wedge issues in schools.

Some parents I know are talking about how to get in front of that

I didn't grow up in IL but I did grow up in a part of New York where the housing and local government were heavily influenced by the desire to avoid or evade affordable housing regulations.

Im super excited to read this report!
It’s here:

Less than a quarter of the 44 highest cost town in IL submitted a compliant affordable housing plan by the legal deadline this year.

If you read Project 2025 you'll see that this crew's definition of waste and fraud includes benefits to people who qualify for them but who, in their eyes, don't deserve them. It's helpful to keep that in mind when you see the "waste & fraud" language.
USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins has said the department will "completely deconstruct" SNAP in an effort to "remove fraud and corruption" from the program.

Pure lies and just cover to inflict as much cruelty as they can on as many people as they can.

Targeting is weak. We need universal basic income.

And almost nobody has "cancer money” of the type you need when it’s really serious
which is why I’m increasingly skeptical thinking about how the idea that wealth is protective (which it is…until it’s not) causes us to overlook how ind. wealth, not Bezos wealth but like median white wealth,
i've half-joked about how you aren't actually rich until you have "cancer money", or enough that you can pay for treatment *and* be out of work for however long *and* maintain your or your family's basic quality of life (ie, not having to liquidate core assets like your primary residence).
