My husband believes that professional logo assistance was brought in to try to make the District 69 logo not funny for middle schoolers and I'm not sure if they succeeded.

Seems like a fine day to re-up my advice to the Styles section...

We were volunteering at school today and saw this amazing project from the 4 year old. The class read the book The Best Part of Me and then had to talk about something they like about themselves.

Always protect your skulls, folks.

If I cannot move you with reason, perhaps meme-based fiscal FOMO will thaw your hearts

I never take enough pictures when I'm out but I did take this one in my hallway. It's always so good to see all the friends and family we have brought together along the way.

For example this is the 2024 presidential election in IL with county level boundaries and voter margins calculated at the precinct level. It's just R/D, no 3rd party. Red points are excess R votes. Blue are excess D.

I had a great conversation today that helped me realize something important. In my bio it says "rich inner life" bc I am always a little in my wacky imagination and I've always assumed it was an escapism thing.

But...what if that's my connection to reality?

You know who was really mad about the feds going after Michael?

MY MOM. As soon as the news hit WhatsApp she called. I was in a meeting but when I called her back she was furious.

She taught US History and Govt for years and knows when the feds start targeting electeds that's bad news.

And bc there's a weird salty undercurrent around Chicago with all the NY posting, I'm going to Chicago post a bunch today about a thing that's been on my mind...

It's Back to the Future but you don't steal rock-'n'-roll or make out with your mom.

This is me in June 2022 outside my polling place on primary day. There were two amazing candidates running for office who REALLY excited me. I loved talking to my neighbors about them. I wanted to keep doing the thing and within 2 months I would run for local office.

Obviously Jerry Reinsdorf. Almost $15K directly to Bost from 2014-2020.
October 16, 2025 at 2:35 PM
Craig Duchossois gave Bost almost 10K for his early runs. Duchossois and his family are massive donors to the Republican Party. Last election cycle he personally gave $6.3m to Super PACS that support Republican candidates in national federal races.

Between 2025 and 2020, Lester Crown gave Bost $20,500. Lester Crown is a billionaire who is also the chairman of the Chicago Commercial Club and the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. Money and position give him a LOT of influence on local government and public opinion.
October 16, 2025 at 2:15 PM
Between 2015 and 2019 Ken Griffin directly gave Bost $30,400. Of course he did. This man has never met a system he didn't want to rig.

Really appreciated this breakdown from @aubreyhirsch.bsky.social

As a consumer you can choose which parts of publishing you want to support and sustain.
