Australians want to reduce the risk of nuclear war and want the government to sign and ratify the Treaty. It is vital that we now recognise the US alliance and the military facilities established under its umbrella as representing the major obstacles to doing so. #auspol #TPNW
US alliance holding us back
Australia's US alliance is preventing the country from signing and ratifying the Treaty for Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, despite overwhelming public support for the government to do so.

The ‘science’ of economics
Why’s the Fed so divided right now? Because 3% inflation is close enough to 2% that some say we’re basically there (especially if you strip out tariffs). Others say: 3% is still above target, it’s been that way for years, and might continue. Same data, different concerns.

This week, I withdrew from a speaking engagement at a public university because they sent me a list of prohibited “words & concepts.” I will not humor this censorship. It does a disservice to the stories I’m discussing & the audience, who deserve unfettered access to information & conversation.

The one bit of solace I get while trump burns America to rubble is that he’s hating every fuckin minute of it.
Trump: "We will be here for three and a quarter years. For the Trump, that's like an eternity. For somebody else that doesn't sound long."

CSIRO 350 job cuts a damning indictment on Government priorities, misses 'golden opportunity' on research
The announcement this week that CSIRO are to cut 350 research jobs is another damning indictment on Australia’s ongoing failure to prioritise research and development.

Here's the language about the missing bits. Currie is talking about the bits that were missing when she first got transcripts, and then what (she believes) remains missing now--which Halligan says is not missing.

this reminded me of the share-house I lived in in the 90’s that was like that house the neighborhood built for the Simpsons. There was a room with too much electricity and you felt it if you sat at my computer desk (in that room). You’d get a little butt massage and your fingers would tingle. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is it true that you shouldn’t shower when there is lightning or is that another lie my parents told me, just like ‘you can’t put the internal cabin light on while driving’

If I die today laughing at this is why.
I know the real concern is the lack of journalistic integrity but I think the real crime here is seeing this face and thinking to yourself "yes I need more of that" His eyes don't even line up. This is a clear case of royals inbreeding

The Nuzzi story is just gross propaganda, an epic romance made of this grifter who breaks ethics on her social rise & a eugenicist dismantling public health in favor of mass death. They're humanizing, validating, offering it to us so it will be palatable. Obviously the paper is bought & sold.
