Look at the difference in these two. On one hand we have the pinnacle of American "pre-dreadnought" design, the Connecticut class. On the other, we have the USS South Carolina, the direct competitor to Dreadnought, and actually laid down before her.

Some of the latest drydock photos from KIDD’s Facebook page. She’s looking real good and is slated to go back into the water on November 11th, Veterans Day. The return to Baton Rouge still won’t happen until the river rises in the spring though. #NavalHistory
