Thread. Very much worth your time.
LtCol Charles Waterhouse is known for his paintings portraying USMC history.

Lost in the weeds is his background; he landed with the 2nd wave at Iwo Jima, and served 3 tours in Vietnam as a civilian combat artist before his commission in ‘71.

He created over 500 works of USMC art.

Ahoy, @radiofreetom.bsky.social, I thought I'd differentiate myself by actually reading something of yours. My esteemed county librarian got this out of the stacks for me. Will likely check back in a couple days with a reaction.

I could not agree more.
No matter the platform you should have your default feed be reverse chron of who/what you follow and curate and diversify that feed.

You’ll be better informed and less prone to disinfo and group think.

This is a hill I will die on.
“As users ‘dislike’ posts, the system will learn what sort of content they want to see less of. This will help to inform more than just how content is ranked in feeds, but also reply rankings.”

Brilliant thread on probably USAFs sexiest airplane ever, the B-58 Hustler.
Convair B-58 Нustlеr 🧵

The B-58 was the most technologically advanced aircraft of its time. A Mach 2 capable, wasp-waisted war chariot, drawn by four J79s, that included silver brazed stainless steel honeycomb sandwich panels in its design.

Oh, brave new world...
The short-form video has brought about a second age of orality. That’s partly because phones are addicting, and partly because America’s ruling class wants it that way.

Putting the ‘Public’ Back in Public Editor.
When the NYT eliminated its Public Editor position, it said that ‘readers across the internet’ could do the same job, better. Here is what I learned from unexpectedly giving that system a try.

What Ken says!
Find a No Kings protest Saturday and go!

Don't worry that you've never been to a protest before. Don't worry about being dressed wrong or looking out of place. Don't worry that you don't agree about everything -- or even about much -- with lots of people at the protest.
