A pretty bird, no doubt. But the Spitty brings that heart-stoppingly gorgeous elliptical planform that's absent here. For that alone, there's no comparison twixt the two.

Pre-ww2, the NYU-Fordham game at Yankee Stadium was called "The Battle of the Bronx". Big time sports faded away at NYU after the war, football ended in early '50's, b-ball (at MSG!) lasted into the '70's. (NYU '60's alum from the Bronx here.)

Nice. He followed, of course, in the wake of Capt. Joshua Slocum who sailed his "Spray" around in the closing years of the 19th century. His "Sailing Alone Around the World" is available via Project Gutenberg. (Slocum departed later for a 2nd circumnavigation and...vanished.)

Dollar Bill stood head and shoulders above the rest; but he could never resolve the how-do-we-govern question in his own mind. A real loss, I think.

Oh, to have been in the meeting about getting the structural test airfame to Dayton, where somebody 1st said "hey I bet we could just sling it under a B-36 and fly it there..."
