My feed is filled with beautiful stories of Alice and Leslie and the legacy that is their advocacy.

Both fought tirelessly for the vulnerable.

They fought for tbe disabled.

They fought for covid mitigations.

We need more people like them, and we must keep up the fight.

This might be the most pitch perfect example of why we hate when someone yells “not all men”.

I’m honestly stunned at how many men are falling all over themselves to endorse pedophilia.

Apparently wanting men not to rape children is now “bigotry”?

I didn’t have that on my bingo card.

Today would be an excellent day to cancel your subscription to the holy goddamn New York Times
The New York Times obit for Alice Wong doesn’t mention Covid or Gaza

It ignores two of her biggest causes because of political bias

Alice fought tirelessly for Covid mitigations

She fought for the people of Gaza

She rightfully reminded us that the genocide in Gaza is a disability justice issue

Vitae Clinic represents the new frontier of the anti-abortion movement. National anti-abortion activists have called it a model of what reproductive health care should look like in the post-Roe v. Wade landscape.
As abortion opponents target IVF, they’re promoting fertility clinics like this one
Social conservatives have pushed restorative reproductive medicine as an alternative to IVF. Doctors worry that could limit access to the most effective form of infertility treatment.

this should really be illegal!
Child marriage is heinous, but one thing I never see brought up in those discussions is that if you are under 18, you cannot file for divorce. If you are under 18 and married to an adult, they are your legal guardian and make decisions for you. That is not a partnership.
Most Minors Who Are Married Can't File for Divorce — Even if They Want To
The final installment of Wedlocked, our series about child marriage in the U.S., explores divorce.

I think that's the other reason I side-eye the "actually Northern racism is just as bad as Southern racism" takes a bit - because I certainly have heard sneaky Lost Cause/Northern Aggression/State's Rights types break that one out before.
Deflecting with northern racism is 100% part of the playbook of lost causers. I say this as someone who grew up in a place that was not that south that had family that believed in the "lost cause" of the south and would repeat how the north was just as racist, it was "economics" that caused the war

Dr Oz isn’t mincing words, he’s stating the regime’s eugenicist goals loud & clear

“Want to drop the cost of healthcare in America? Get healthy”

Where does that leave disabled and chronically ill people?

We can’t “choose” to get healthy.

They have no plan for healthcare.

Their plan is eugenics

Rabbi here.

The West Bank is absolutely occupied, in violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949, reaffirmed from the Fourth Hague Convention of 1907, Article 42.

It would be helpful if people who didn't know what they were talking about didn't open their uninformed mouths.
Genuinely curious as to why Wu and others who argue along these lines are surprised that pro-Israel politics are on the back-foot in the United States.

An immigrant had her green card revoked for writing a bad cheque for $25.

She had since paid it back.

She’s now languishing in a detention camp.

Yet we are letting child rapists go free. Even the ones who get caught get “community service”.

It was never about crime.

As we watch the PSA video of Epstein survivors, I want to remind everyone that 17 year old Jesse Butler of Oklahoma raped and strangled two girls and got community service.

He videotaped it and the police had the evidence.

One of the girls was hospitalized for a neck injury.

WHY DOES TRUMP SUDDENLY WANT TO RELEASE THE EPSTEIN FILES?

Did he have the documents doctored?

Will the files be redacted to remove Trump’s name and photos?

Whatever the reason is, it involves lies and criminal activity to coverup Trump’s nasty crimes.

I am very skeptical, however. He’s the President. He can release the files.

Folks, a famous author isn't ever going to contact you out of the blue to offer you literary services. It's always a scam. Also, speaking as an at least semifamous author, you wouldn't want any services we did offer, we're just barely handling our own shit, much less anyone else's.
I've now heard from 3 authors targeted on X by a scammer impersonating Lois McMaster Bujold. Bujold impersonator refers author to "Eleanor Wood at Spectrum Literary", also an impersonation. Goal: to sell editing svcs. Scam is impersonating multiple authors & agents writerbeware.blog/2025/11/14/i...

I know this is hella nitpicky and I get suspension of disbelief but on the other hand this is EXACTLY the kind of pop culture depiction of lazy/sloppy/careless scientists and science protocols that the leads to the Covid lab leak conspiracy theory becoming broadly believed.
Ok so re: Pluribus, if I was working in a Biosafety Level 4 or ABSL-4 lab and my colleague got bit by a rat infected with a mysterious alien virus I would simply not immediately drag them out of the containment chamber and into the open air but that’s just me.
Watched the first five minutes of Pluribus and oh hi it’s the Very Large Array! I haven’t seen it show up in media in a while. You may remember it from Contact, which had essentially the same “we found a pattern” plot. It’s 27 dishes (radio antennas) in a Y shape across 22 miles. A very cool place!
