This isn’t entirely accurate. My great grand father and his siblings had alternate spellings of Samollow, Samelow, and Samilow when they immigrated here from what is now Ukraine and Russia. So variations did occur.
Later on, one of the siblings did change their last name to Stanton.

So here in Belgrade MT we have a parade every Fall. This year there was a section dedicated to Charlie Kirk. A family friend expressed concern about it to the local chamber of commerce. They sent the police after them.
I have come to the conclusion very few people actually understand the First Amendment in a serious way.

It may be distasteful but it is not illegal to mock someone's death and it should not warrant arrest, ever. The 1st Amendment exists specifically to protect disfavored speech and what is happening now is one of the greatest threats to free speech in the United States.
