Threat assessments by the United States don't seem to be looking at the steady demolition of Russian refineries and incredible vulnerability of petroleum infrastructure. Our choice to continue dependencies on these very vulnerable pieces of infrastrucure is flatly baffling.

A thread about how farmers can kick their government subsidies, if they want to make good, independent money. Grow crops below & still produce more energy for electric vehicle fuel than corn/ethanol. A 16,000% improvement in vehicle fuel generation, make $$$ with solar and make even more from crops.
Over 40% of corn grown in Indiana is used to make ethanol that cars burn. One acre of corn yields about 16,500 vehicle-miles per year of ethanol, which sounds high until you realize that one acre of solar yields about 2,700,000 vehicle-miles per year: 16,000% more driving for a given plot of land.

When the current American federal government cancels programs in the various states, I am wondering why the states don't have the right to "cancel" sending their taxes to the feds. What am I missing? Is this unilateral disarmament or ethical suicide or something else?

1/x 🧵 🔌💡 #Greensky. Hey climate peeps! Here’s a local victory to celebrate, and some lessons from it. Last night, the Town of Poughkeepsie, NY, voted to overturn its 18-month moratorium (6 months, renewed twice) on grid-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS).

Mafiosos specialize in extracting blood and money. These two profit from war, a war that one of them started. Remember, TFG just nationalized a piece Intel, I guarantee you he will do the same to Exxon, and claim that anything good for Exxon is good for the country.

This is why my children get sex education - the award winning "Our Whole Lives" program, a collaboration between the UUA and the UCC - at my Unitarian Universalist congregation in Atlanta, UUCA. No one else does any where near as good of a job, in my experience, & others actively erase trans ppl.

Which country first is MAGA again? I had always thought the America-first-ers were a serious problem, but these Putin-first-ers are really mafia scum, bought and paid for.
Fox News Reporter Jacqui Heinrich: The way that it felt in the room was not good. It did not seem like things went well. And it seemed like Putin came in and steam rolled, got right into what he wanted to say and got his photo next to the president and then left

“While crypto’s huge computational costs undermine any legitimate use case, the benefits of anonymity and the lack of a centralized authority are well worth the inefficiencies in one particular context: if you want to transfer money to commit crimes.”

Single-handed Presidential declarations of emergency are a fundamental flaw in US governance. Proposed: declaring emergencies get priority Congressional consideration and require 66% to pass. If it isn't broadly held a situation is an emergency, dictatorial powers should remain untappable.

Who knew that we needed to provide tax-protected investment access to booming businesses of human trafficking, money laundering, government corruption, and tax evasion? Now that we have a bright new techno-gleam on investing in crime, we should all claim our share of the vampiric profit!
Again, anyone claiming how great crypto is really has to explain to the rest of us why it attracts the absolute worst human beings.

The Beltline and the Silver Comet Trail getting connected means that transit all the way from the Alabama border to the Beltline will be possible within the next few weeks (and a lot of other connectivity besides that straight shot). This is a powerful and needed alternative to driving into Atlanta.
HAPPENING NOW: Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and other dignitaries are here for the Atlanta Westside BeltLine Segment 4 ribbon cutting, which will connect over 7 miles of trail from Blandtown to Pittsburgh and Ashby marta station.

A new sign for Washington Park has also been unveiled

Immigration courts need to start holding all of their hearings via zoom. The use of the judicial system as a trap for users of that justice system is completely unacceptable.

When you already have control of a strong currency, and you are dabbling in another "currency", it:

1) is easier to manipulate holders to pump and dump crypto;

2) facilitates accepting bribes

3) normalizes money laundering.
June 5, 2025 at 11:25 AM
Crypto is money laundering.
we are more than 10 years into this bullshit and there is still no identified use case for crypto beyond a speculative pump and dump token. nobody uses it in commerce except to buy CSAM and ketamine from Burmese organized crime. it's a shitty medium of exchange and a bad store of value. it sucks.
lol. You keep pushing responsibility to everywhere but you. If you are 25 and your networth is $250 and tied up in crypto and every time gary said something you lost money and every time trump did you made money, who you voting for ?

Lottery tickets expire. Crypto doesn’t.

Crypto currency is money laundering. It enables corruption.
Trump's crypto venture is fleecing his supporters.

80% of the new or small-time crypto investors in Trump’s coin have been hit with big losses.

Meanwhile, his team is making millions off the coin’s trading fees, which stay stable even when its value goes down.

It’s a grift.

Two factor authentification doesn't work if you answer inbound calls to tell them what your second factor is. Beware, folks. Between the government giving leaky DOGE and Russia our private data and unrelenting scammers, there will be lots of victims in the next few years.
