Ezra Levin speaking to Jen Rubin of The Contrarian, explaining what's so terrible about the capitulation of Angus King and seven other Dems to the GOP. 17 minutes.

I keep seeing regular Americans taking more risks every day to fight tyranny, want, and cynicism than I see from the opposition party, and I imagine many of those regular Americans are asking themselves what the value proposition of such an opposition party is, really

agreeing to make a terrible deal while your main opponent is quite literally being boo'd on live tv by an entire stadium of people is the kind of political instinct you'd normally only find in a 3 week old dead goldfish

These 8 Senators sold us out to Trump:
Hassan
King
Cortez-Masto
Shaheen
Kaine
Fetterman
Durbin
Rosen

Understand This Fact: Chuck Schumer is behind this. None of these 8 are up for reelection in 2026. Schumer asked them vote yes—they agreed. He's such a coward that he folded and won't even own it.

This is so utterly on brand for the corporate, Vichy Dems. And so utterly depressing. 💔 Call, call, call.
Nothing would be more in character for the current Democratic party than to look at the victories of Tuesday and immediately surrender
! A key group of Senate Democrats is leaning toward voting for a deal to end the shutdown, provided final details can be worked out like worker protections (Gift link)

(Deal does NOT include an ACA extension.)

Asking anyone who's got energy to do so to call their Dem Senators and urge them not to back down on healthcare. 🙏

Your friends who are too sick to work to access healthcare are going to be really fucked otherwise. Being too sick to work means no paycheck to cover now-exorbitant marketplace plans.

John Fetterman, Angus King, Maggie Hassan, Dick Durbin, Jon Ossoff, Jeanne Shaheen, Kirsten Gillibrand, Catherine Cortez Masto, Mark Warner, Cory Booker, and of course Chuck Schumer. Maybe others not top of mind. Not all responsible will publicly vote for the cave - that's not how this works.

Call your senators now!

☎️ 202-224-3121 ☎️
This deal includes a "promise" from Republicans that there will be a vote on ACA subsidies in December

Yeah right

Republicans can't be trusted

Democratic leadership has learned NOTHING from the election results

Democrats must NOT cave unless extending ACA credits is guaranteed in legal fashion

I'm hearing the same thing. Dems are nearing a surrender. I'm shocked. Largest protest in history + best election night in years + polling showing we're kicking their ass in public opinion. And now Dems may cave.

It ain't over til it's over, so please do call if you've got a Dem senator.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

Call the United States Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and they will connect you with your senator's office.

If you're represented by one of the squishier centrists, be sure to make a call. Now.

NOOOOOO!! I just called my "independent" Maine senator's (King's) office to beg him to hold the line, though he has already been voting with the GOP, to my great dismay. HOLD the line @senangusking.bsky.social ! Hold the line!!!
