It’s not just about what you remove (cars, noise, dirty air). It’s about what you add (people walking, a lot of bike parking, trees, outdoor dining, and room for kids to play safely). Amsterdam: 1986 and today.

Remembrance Day is a reminder of what we were willing to fight for in the past — and how much it mattered that we fought together.

Things are getting worse for Pierre. When bullies are bosses, things go off the rails and work environments become toxic. Those MPs who can, are leaving and soon, only the bullies and bullied will be left. That’s no way to run an organization, or provide effective leadership. 1/2

I can buy them as way-finding or as a reminder to drivers on traffic calmed neighbourhood greenways that bikes will be present and need to be respected, but as any kind of infrastructure they are as always, shite.
Sharrows are the bare minimum of bike infrastructure, though I do think they serve a genuine purpose on low-traffic bikeways for things such as way-finding.
It's a low bar, but still nice to see them get refreshed and reapplied.

Reducing speed limits works but it only happens when our city administration stops greasing the squeaky wheels and looks at it strictly from a safety perspective. Its not whether the majority agree, but whether it is the "right" thing to do.
Setting the urban/village speed limit at 20mph/30kmh will upset some drivers. But success isn't measured by whether drivers "raise their right hand" but by "drivers raising their right foot". And all the evidence shows that they do and community-wide 20mph/30kmh defaults reduce casualties by some 2

Regarding Prime Minister Carney’s federal budget: I don’t pretend to fully know it, and there are elements that concern me, but if I were the NDP I’d pledge to support it if a significant investment in urban public transit (nation-building, climate etc) was added, and if I were PM Carney I’d agree.
