@cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social there is a path to safer streets if you just have the courage to take it.
“They cut speed limits, changed street design, removed space for cars… Now it appears that work is paying off. #Oslo & #Helsinki are reaping the rewards of committed action on making their roads safer, reducing pedestrian fatalities to zero last year.” #VisionZero #SpeedKills

Sorry, separatists: Oil isn't going to make an independent Alberta great again. If anything, it might be its undoing.

Unreal
CBP chief Bovino has confirmed that the officers who executed Alex Pretti in the street yesterday are not only *not on administrative leave,* they have all been reassigned to other jurisdictions and are all on the street today.

This is totally unheard of for any officer-involved shooting

Even a snowblower would have a significant workout trying to move this kind of mountain of snow, it requires bigger machinery. If snow removal from sidewalks and bike lanes is not coordinated with road then they will always be the dumping ground for snow from the roads.
One of the reasons I really want to see people recognizing that cities, not individual households, should be responsible for snow removal is that this kind of plow mound is nearly impossible to remove by hand. Regular folks can't do it without a snowblower, not everyone has a place to keep one.

What Carney didn’t say at Davos. “we can’t wish the reality of climate change offstage while great powers fight over resources & sea lanes....how much more unstable will we allow it to become. It does the public no favours when leaders who have grasped the threat, refuse to name it.” t.ly/xtTP3
What Carney didn’t say at Davos
The prime minister's speech was a radical contrast to the weaving, menacing ramble from US President Donald Trump later in the program. But it left out one thing: climate.
