This is more extreme, with heavier impacts, than "Operation Midway Blitz" here in the Chicago area, which we thought was plenty bad enough with only 250 extra CBP agents here.

It’s hard to know if people outside MN understand how much of life is grinding to a halt here because of Trump’s occupation. Schools have shut down, businesses are scaling back hours or closing because their employees aren’t safe. The whole city is weighted down.

In a morning meditation gathering a friend mentioned this peace walk, the monks, & Aloka the rescue dog. What a beautiful, joyful counterpoint to the darkness in the news. Peace is an option. Peace in every step, to quote Thich Nhat Hanh. Be peace. ☮️🙏❤️
The “Walk for Peace” Monk’s and Aloka the rescue dog entered South Carolina today on their 2,300 walk across America to show us that peace is an option during our lives on earth.

It's difficult to remind myself of this in these times, but over and over again my Buddhist practice has been helpful in coping.
Sitting with the anger, rage, and sadness that may arise from the horror of samsara but not reacting damagingly.
Cultivating lovingkindness toward all beings helps us.

Greed, hatred, and delusion are terrible poisons. But the dharma is an even more powerful antidote.
