Now of course, Trump does a lot of things that are illegal, so take that as you may.

According to this think tank the president is not permitted to declare martial law. Invoking the Insurrection Act is not the same as martial law.
Martial Law, Explained
The law surrounding the concept is complicated and unsettled. Congress should pass legislation that better defines its scope.

That was not an act of fanaticism. It was an act of political protest against the persecution of Buddhism in Vietnam by the government of Ngo Dinh Diem.

It is not common for Buddhist monks, nor do Buddhist teachings ever call for self-immolation--indeed, it might violate the Buddha's teachings

Didn’t she win an award or contest? i think you are no longer just self-proclaimed when you do that

Walz is on Trump’s side materially even if his words are oppositional to Trump’s. We realized this a long time ago in Illinois with Governor Pritzker.

“Without incident”
The incident is the police arresting the protestors.

This is their job. Police exist to violently suppress dissent, not to find murderers or to protect people.

IMO the reasons for more male suicide are that men have less solidarity with other men, less emotional support, have a lesser understanding of their emotional state, are frankly more likely to hold views counterproductive to mental health, and are less likely to treat mental health conditions

I think many women would say the same thing about women, minus the suicide part. Men surprisingly often completely abandon their responsibilities as providers for children or in working in the home caring for family. Women aren't quitting the grueling job of making home and family work

It stops being fun in that range. I once worked outdoors in that kind of weather for months in Missouri. The humidity was high too. When it got down into the low 30s Celsius we thought it felt so great

Sorry, I'm not trying to interfere with anything.

And when I say cultivating lovingkindness protects us, I mean not just on a karmic level but also here and now... I appreciate the decrease in my heart rate, the greater feelings of calm and relaxation and the anger fading somewhat, after practicing lovingkindness meditation for several minutes.

I don't think spreading the conflict goes along with what these venerable Buddhist monks are trying to accomplish here. They are offering lovingkindness to all sentient beings, regardless of those sentient beings' reaction.

Trump thinks HE turns the Wheel of Dharma, in his arrogance?

In the United States, WE, ALL TOGETHER, turn the Wheel of Dharma.

WE are the Chakravartin.

The President, Congress, they're just supposed to be the means by which we effectuate that in the world!

HUMBLE THEM
