WE WON. I am *begging* you to take note of who did this. *Not* UCLA admin—they’re still scuttling around behind closed doors, attempting to appease—but FACULTY AND STAFF, led by AAUP.
BREAKING: In AAUP et al v. Trump (wall-to-wall union lawsuit challenging the administration’s unlawful use of TItle VI to reshape the University of California system), the faculty and staff of the UC system WON!!!

We were granted our preliminary injunction! @aaup.org

Five years ago, @brandyzadrozny.bsky.social and I did a story about rural Oregon's fever dream that Antifa was coming to their town from Portland.

Hundreds showed up armed downtown because they heard on Facebook that "Antifa buses" were coming.

No buses came so they said Antifa "retreated."
In Klamath Falls, Oregon, victory declared over antifa, which never showed up
Towns from Washington state to Indiana have seen armed groups begin patrolling the streets after rumors spread on social media about an antifa invasion.

Remember how lefties used to say "abolish ICE" back in the 2010s, and got roundly scolded by the centrists for it ever since, and now events have shown beyond a shadow of a doubt that they were 1000% on the correct side of history, but somehow they're still being scolded? Fun.

If you want a second opinion from another self educated backwoods dietician, you absolutely _do_ want to pick out the buckshot. I have eaten my fair share of squirrel. And I still have all my teeth well into my mid-40s.

Looking over the Epstein book messages, I'm struck by how comfortable everyone was with compiling something like this, contributing to it, and receiving it. Something most people with common sense would avoid like the plague.

But the super-rich and powerful know how insulated they are.

In Boston, when they "cleared the camps," homeless folks had pills, medical devices, and wheelchairs thrown into the back of a trash truck and compacted.

this is what it means when someone "clears the camps" - taking what little these people have left, and destroying it. the hope is they die.
Press needs to stop repeating govt euphemism of “clearing homeless camps.” I’ve witnessed it in other cities: massive destruction of personal property. Not just bedrolls & tents; family photos, Bibles, meds. Times I’ve seen it people weren’t even given option to move their things.

Okay so hear me out. We're not allowed PUNCHING Nazis. Violence is never the answer.

But what if, instead of punching them, we killed them with drone strikes and no due process? Or what if we drove up to them in unmarked vans and disappeared them? That's okay in America, right?

I'm seeing less posts about the Visa and Mastercard situation and I want to make it plain as day. You need to keep calling and bothering them, and losing them money.

Because if we lose this, they are going to cut more and more from what's available until you can only buy what they approve of.
Spoke with an anon source who had an interesting insight into Visa policy. Per a convo with their bank on the Steam/itchio situation today, Visa put new restrictions into place due to a new "government policy." The exact phrase used by Visa. No specific country was listed as the source of the policy

The threat of “AI” to all professionals, not just UXDs.

Skilled, responsible professionals think hard give the boss or client what they need, not what they ask for or think they want.

“AI” elizas make stuff up to affirm what prompts ask for.

We know what bosses & clients will choose.

< thread >
One of the most common type of AI post in UX is a booster pretending to be a skeptic: "AI promised it would be simple but to use it well you actually need very good design taste, like I have"

Managers don't give a shit about your "good taste" because *they don't know their AI outputs are bad.*

What this sort of stuff is likely to do is make parents FEARFUL of their kid being on the spectrum. It provides an incentive towards denial and repression.

Just like their anti-trans policies incentivize parents to try & deny and suppress unconventional gender expression and identity in their kids.
This puts parents in such an impossible bind.

To access services, you need a diagnosis.

But what happens when that diagnosis puts your kid in a database run by a eugenicist who believes autism is a disease that should be eradicated?
RFK Jr. brought back a failed mass data collection program to track autism. The Senate wants him to stop.
