We couldn't stop the Russian shadow fleet. So now Ukraine is sinking it.

What is up with commentators who cannot accept Russian involvement in Ukraine before and during the Euromaidan protests? It's totally misleading to suggest that Russia only got involved after February 2014, yet we see this language so often.

I remember when Poland joined the E.U and all the German and French farmers were up in arms over how they can't compete with Polish and Slovak farmers. It's a real déjà vu for me to now see Polish and Slovak farmers up in arms over how they can't compete with Ukrainian farmers.
This seems like a recipe to basically replay the 90s.

I think it's as important a conversation as any about Ukraine

Navalnaya's solution - the West supporting Russian civil society, independent media, human-rights defenders - was tried in the '90s.

It failed catastrophically.

Russians have to solve the problems of their sick fascist-imperialist society themselves, long-term.

No more shifting blame to the West.
Despite all the sanctions and strong words, thinking has been lamentably short-term, writes Alexei Navalny’s widow econ.st/42vLxCf

Why are people calling russia (maybe accidentally) hitting the Cabinet of Ministers in Kyiv “an escalation”? Ru has been trying to assassinate Zelensky since 2022. They hit civilian targets all the time. I don’t think they’ve been holding back from attacking an empty govt building.

A pro-Ru progressive is an oxymoron. Ru is the most retrograde regime in the world today, trying to bring back 19th century imperialist territorial expansion. If you want to accommodate, understand, appease Ru or if you outright support its challenge to the current order, you are NOT a progressive.

Authors celebrate “historic” settlement coming soon in Anthropic class action
