Exiled from the Bird Site for taking the fight to the terrorists. Actually pretty friendly when not dealing with extremists and whackos. Still, I've got something to make just about anybody mad.

What's that? Do I have any hobbies? Oh, mostly just telling people things they don't want to hear.
Maybe the problem is all the paywalled articles.
Democratic politicians have, though, pursued growth in GDP at the expense of other values. One response to @jburnmurdoch.ft.com pessimistic scenario is refocus on those values, combined with egalitarianism, sufficiency and quality of life. Not "it's the economy, stupid" but "it's the the society"
Is liberal democracy in terminal decline?
The old system worked under a set of conditions that are no longer present

It's really the second Bond film, "From Russia With Love", that sets the precedent for the Bond movie artsy cheesecake intro. Though it's just the opening credits projected onto a Vegas stripper, basically. Hey, it was 1963.

It's even more remarkable that James Bond has had such a long career when you realize he was crawling through the cooling pipes of Dr. No's unlicensed nuclear reactor in 1962.

The vodka martini is the most wuss thing about Bond. But I was probably older than Connery in "Dr. No" when I recognized that it's not a martini unless it's gin: it's just something else in a martini glass.

Is the whole "shaken not stirred" thing Bond's version of Van Halen with the brown M&Ms because I don't think it makes that much difference.

It's so cute when Dems play like they are the party of law and order.
In 2021, a convicted fraudster named Adriana Camberos was freed from prison when Trump commuted her sentence.

Rather than taking advantage of that second chance, Camberos returned to crime.

This week, Trump pardoned her, marking the second time he had opened the prison gates for Camberos.

Boy that's a word whose meaning has changed a lot in fifty years.
What is PUNK?
Being unapologetically compassionate.
Staying community-minded.

That’s why the Gigi Marie team will match proceeds going to survivors.org to DC Migrant Mutual Aid.

We play Feb 7th.
Your ticket helps us melt ICE.

Allan Pinkerton, who supplied arms to John Brown and bought the suit Brown was hanged in? THAT Allan Pinkerton, Ms. Kendall?
If you need more examples look up "Pinkertons union busting". Not enough? Try "Race Riots". You can add in places like Chicago, Hempstead County, Elaine Arkansas, Louisiana...you get the idea. There's nothing more American than state sponsored violence against marginalized communities.

The quality of BlueSky is slowly rising for me as I block anyone accounts yelling the same old refrains about the Epstein Files.

Buddy I bet you spent more time on this reply than I did on what you were replying to.
Ah, sorry, I got distracted. Let me finish my thought:

And, I'm legitimately saddened that you're so addicted to the rush of no-stakes hostility that you piss away the minutes that make up the hours that make up the days of your one life on this planet in pointless conflict with strangers online.

I don't remember all these people giving America shit when Biden abandoned all our collaborators in Afghanistan. I felt worse about that than I do about dipshit threatening Greenland.

Okay, no apology then!
Important perspective from Greenland.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is facing early turbulence, with reports that 16,800 fans have cancelled US-based ticket applications amid growing calls for a boycott.

Social media campaigns using hashtags like #BoycottWorldCup have gained traction, driven by concerns over US domestic politics.

So let me get this straight, Europe. You think Trump is Putin's Lapdog and you think Putin is poised to attack Russia and you're letting Trump lure your troops to Greenland?

1/ A poetry reading by Russian ultra-nationalists in Krasnodar has been violently suppressed by Russian security forces, much to the dismay of their online supporters. The incident highlights how much Putin's regime fears being outflanked from the nationalist right. ⬇️

Yeah we'd have a little trouble if Iran, Columbia, Mexico, Cuba, and Greenland all attacked simultaneously. We'd still win but it would be time consuming.
Trump is addicted to military force. After Venezuela, he has threatened to take military action in many more places, including Iran, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Greenland — and now Minnesota.

But there are sharp limits to what U.S. armed forces can achieve.

Opinion | Trump is addicted to military force. Congress knows what is missing.
A dilemma confronts the Trump administration in Iran. It needs the U.S. soft power it eviscerated.

I didn't like Biden for throwing our Afghan collaborators under the bus and I don't like Trump doing the same to the children of collaborators from wars past.
Now ICE is deliberately targeting the Hmong in the US: an ethnic group who sought refuge here specifically because in Laos their ethnicity would get them branded US collaborators or insurgents. Many came here as children and have either never been to Laos or weren't old enough to remember it.
