Maybe it's just because I watched The Blackbird recently, but I see an odd connection between Lon Chaney and Daffy Duck. In addition to the tremendously animated performance (no pun intended), Chaney had a knack for taking unusual antagonists and making them life's achingly sympathetic losers.
