Give War A Chance
@houfek.bsky.social
Exiled from the Bird Site for taking the fight to the terrorists. Actually pretty friendly when not dealing with extremists and whackos. Still, I've got something to make just about anybody mad.
This is disrespectful

These high altitude jumps are getting ridiculous

When I lived in Nashville it was in a really nice location on Music Row and I only drove about 3000 a year, and that included a long road trip or two. Mostly only drove to the grocery store

Maybe you're married. If so, I'm afraid you'd be the designated wingman and drinks are on me
November 18, 2025 at 3:28 AM
We should paint the town red sometime, wingmen, etc

Fortune favors the bold! Just, not every time.

"May I meet you?" sounds like something someone for whom English is a second language might say. Maybe that's why it worked?

Also don't think any city of any size in the South is as racist as Boston
November 18, 2025 at 2:48 AM
Well thank goodness we didn't evolve into pacifists.

Suit looks like it fits fine to me
November 18, 2025 at 1:41 AM
I mean you won't even add Never-Trumpers and the real leftists won't vote for you so not sure how you're growing that coalition. Illegal immigration? Is that the plan?

Don't know who he is, hence not going to kill for him. If that makes me not human, oh well, humans are overrated

And much of the taxes are punitive, meaning they are intended to satisfy a "green" agenda by making the use of petrol more expensive.
November 18, 2025 at 12:53 AM
Also contributing: limited domestic supply adding infrastructure and transport costs. Petrol has to be refined to a higher emissions standard which costs more. Sometimes currency exchange rates have contributed too. But mostly it's taxes.
November 18, 2025 at 12:52 AM
Taxes. Excise duty plus VAT makes up 40-60% of the cost of petrol in Europe.

In San Francisco I think it's more like 90 cents per gallon. So I'd be paying $405 in gas taxes annually there, putting only about 8000 miles on the car per year. If my napkin math is right.
November 18, 2025 at 12:19 AM
I'm a very low mileage driver, maybe 450 gallons per year. I believe here in Fort Worth I only pay a state tax of 20 cents per gallon so that would be what, $90 per year? But pretty sure Texas is on the extreme low end.
November 18, 2025 at 12:16 AM
How much would you say that tax adds up to, in a year, for you?
November 18, 2025 at 12:13 AM
Whatever you think about the Epstein Files, it's preposterous to take that as somehow representative of the criminal justice system overall. Most offenders are not ultra-rich dudes with private islands and powerful connections.

The problem with social media has always been and continues to be that it rewards perpetual outrage.
November 17, 2025 at 10:54 PM
Also don't forget that most states tax gasoline and some states tax it punitively.
November 17, 2025 at 10:27 PM
If you count ALL the ways the federal government subsidizes oil (tax breaks, lease/royalty discountrs, direct grants, etc, etc) the subsidy comes to $20-35 billion per year, which is only about $150-300 per taxpayer per year.

Europeans pay more than that by a wide margin.
