In 7th grade, one of my friends suddenly died from meningococcemia. She was previously healthy. We used to hang out at the skating rink every weekend. It was my first exposure to childhood death and was devastating. Imagine knowing it would be preventable by routine vaccination just a decade later.

Insurance: We will only cover a 90-day supply of this med.
Me: We only need 14 days. We're weaning it off.
Ins: I will approve a 30-day supply.
Me: 🙄 Is there a ref # for this conversation when it doesn't go through?
Ins: No, but I'm confident it will work now.
Pharmacy: It didn't work.
