My husband found a single sock that I've been missing for YEARS, and I still have the mate. Oh happy day! 🧦

In 7th grade, one of my friends suddenly died from meningococcemia. She was previously healthy. We used to hang out at the skating rink every weekend. It was my first exposure to childhood death and was devastating. Imagine knowing it would be preventable by routine vaccination just a decade later.

Insurance: We will only cover a 90-day supply of this med.

Me: We only need 14 days. We're weaning it off.

Ins: I will approve a 30-day supply.

Me: 🙄 Is there a ref # for this conversation when it doesn't go through?

Ins: No, but I'm confident it will work now.

Pharmacy: It didn't work.

Really glad I let the boys stay up to watch that game. As exciting as football ever gets and exactly what it feels like to be a Ravens fan.
Whatever you expected to happen, it wasn't that. #Ravens

I finally found frozen buttermilk biscuits here, which vastly improves my quality of weekend life. No more canned biscuits ever again.

I joke that 10% of my job is turning off sound machines, but it's no laughing matter. I hate those things.

If you told me back in medical school that someday I would be running for the Senate and my campaign slogan would be “It’s me or the measles” I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT HAVE BELIEVED YOU.

But here we are. It’s me or the measles. South Carolina, the choice is yours. 💙🇺🇸

Starting the year with the immense stress of trying not to screw up my kids' school choice applications.

(In Baltimore City, you have to apply for the good/specialized public middle and high school programs much like a residency rank list.)

I haven't had slow-cooked black-eyed peas in decades, but I'd swoon for some with real buttermilk cornbread.
