There was a time when bad people at least tried to lie to the public about wanting to steal another country’s oil.

How many US troops die before Trump declares “victory” without achieving any war objective? How may have to die before he wusses out?
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

it is a noteworthy shift that Bush et al felt the need to lay like two years of groundwork to justify invading Iraq on WMD grounds and Trump is just saying "Venezuela's oil is our rightful property" and sending in the Navy

AI has actively made life worse for literally everyone

- tech is now more expensive
- you cannot trust most media of reality anymore
- programs barely function
- energy prices
- literal psychosis
- your voice can be literally stolen for evil
- more spyware

but hey, you can avoid paying an artist.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel.

By my 2nd meeting at the Doylestown Democrats in 2017 I was being asked to run for township supervisor with little idea what I was doing.

8 years later I’ve helped flip the board from 4 R and 1 I to 4 D and 1 I. When I was in high school the idea of not having an R on the board was insane
I really can't emphasize enough that if you care about local politics, all you gotta do is show up. Just a regular schmegular person showing up. Literally just show up consistently in person and within a remarkably short amount of time, you will have a shocking amount of influence.

It may sound radical, but if one guy has so much wealth and power that he can use the large newspaper he owns to publicly threaten to ruin a service we all rely on, presumably as a bargaining tactic to get lower rates, we probably need to tax that guy until he can't do that anymore.

But Amazon may give up its long-standing partnership with USPS to deliver packages itself, which could spell disaster for the mail agency.

This is the question I have
Okay but like
why is *anybody* buying Warner Bros
why does Warner Bros need to be bought
how big do the entertainment conglomerates need to get before they are one single conglomerate
Netflix has made the highest bid to buy Warner Bros so far.

It’s a symptom of our current debased condition that guys like this feel comfortable making these kind of vile statements in public.

He shouldn’t just be pushed out as the House Democrats’ leader; he needs to be primaried out of his seat entirely. Just a complete waste of a deep blue seat.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

100% this. It’s the only thing that explains how one day he wants to give Ukraine tomahawk missiles and the next day is saying they have no chance and to give up on Russian terms.

And the palace court around Trump plays to it
the takeaway from the Zohran Trump meeting is that Trump is a gullible fool who will temporarily bend to the last charismatic person he talked to.

Zohran played him perfectly but that doesn’t mean Trump is good now. He’ll go back to fascism tomorrow morning after he talks to Stephen Miller

He’s not the only one. Charitable giving is a tax dodge for the ultra rich. They aren’t building libraries or public fountains like the old rich.

IMO we should do away with tax credits for charitable giving above certain income levels. It just incentivizes cheating the system, not helping society

Private equity firm Sycamore Partners bought Walgreens.

Now Walgreens has stopped giving most workers paid vacation on Thanksgiving, Christmas and other major holidays.

Private equity takeovers are a disaster for workers, and customers.

Thoughts on the excuses we're about to hear with the Epstein files news:

1) "Well in ancient times 14 year olds would be married and having kids..."

2) "Technically he's not a pedophile because they were 14 and its actually hebephilia which is prepubescent wait why are you calling the police?"

I heard from a bunch of federal employees last night and this morning. They aren't happy.
