Even if you don't purchase smut, it should be common sense that the right for anyone else to obtain it shouldn't be completely up to modern day crusaders and credit card payment processors.

Someone on my flight into Scotland was watching a Toy Story film and how is it that I never before realized that the toys in these movies are basically Weeping Angels???? They can only move when a human isn't observing them

As a genre fiction writer, I get really tired of the "well, x wrote this this so obviously they're a monster". Yes, sometimes awful people write awful things. And sometimes they write beautiful things. Writing horror doesn't make you a horrible person. This is not a good way to look at things.

How to support authors without spending money:

*Spread the word about their books!

*Leave a rating and review!

*Whisper story ideas in their ear while they sleep!

*Cast a spell to curse rival writers!

*Summon a demon to protect them from typos!

*Follow them on social media!

Thank you LitHub for covering Project 2025, and for reaching out to talk about the mandate's impact on our freedom to read.

I will be screaming about this nonstop to all book people until I lose my voice and am carried bodily from the town square.

The Republicans’ Project 2025 is disastrous for books.
If you’ve been following political news, you’ve likely heard about Project 2025, the massive conservative “wish list for a Trump presidency.” The 900-page document is a blueprint for an authoritari…

be careful if you use apps like goodreads to track your reading. don’t get too caught up in the numbers. don’t think “oh i can’t log this, it’s a comic and that’s cheating”.

if you read it, it counts. it’s not supposed to be a competition. it’s supposed to be fun.

Books don’t have an expiration date. I’m as guilty of this as anyone, but your work is still important no matter how many years ago you made it. Don’t forget how much work you put into it. Promote it and love it.
