For starters - no Irish State/Gov agencies/politicians should be on Twitter. None. They could do this today and it would actually be more than just empty words.

This spoiled vote thing is a Big Flashing Danger sign in the week of racist riots in Ireland - we're stumbling towards a crisis with no leadership or will to tackle misinformation, criminality, intimidation.

And we've seen it coming since the Anti-Vaxx loons started screaming in chemists.

10 years ago, there was only a single 'leathceann' (windswept) birch tree in the foreground.

Now, there's a full-on exploding diverse native rainforest, none of which was planted. All it took was fencing out sheep.

Let's rewild the world 🌏

Our new journal paper has hit the front pages and got wide coverage on the airwaves this morning.

The paper critically assesses “temperature neutrality” as a basis for Ireland’s long-term climate target. We find it amounts to backsliding on climate ambition and locks in food system unfairness.

Loyalists topping a giant bonfire with effigies of refugees in a boat in Northern Ireland is yet another illustration of how deep, putrid racism can endure for centuries within societies whose origins are colonial.

Whole identities are built on being superior to others.

Last night Russia attacked a European capital with ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones. Today the story barely registers in international news headlines.
Western normalization and acceptance of Russian atrocities in Ukraine is what makes them possible.

At the root of most of Trumps policies and behaviours is a very deep seated racism.
Don't look away, don't normalize: this is the virtually unconstrained leader of the world's most powerful country ambushing the president of South Africa with conspiracy-fueled racist propaganda promoted by his unelected billionaire maybe-appointee who has caused the deaths of children through DOGE.
Trump is now giving the South African president the full Zelenskyy treatment

The devastating brutality in the Weat Bank?
The devastating blockade of food & water on an entire population?

Absolutely nothing, that’s what. But now EU’s supposed to show solidarity with the war criminals instead? For shame.

Not a lot of concerns raised today but I residents know where we are for support in the months & years ahead.
