Someone I know runs an art therapy program at a local hospital. She used to use a small petty cash budget to shop for supplies on her own time to make it stretch farther. Administrative changes forced her to use Amazon. Now it costs so much more, they routinely run out of art supplies.

This had hidden impacts. I used to live in a building with a lot of disabled seniors. Some of us would leave our empties outside the door of a woman with cancer. Every day she'd take a shopping cart around the neighbourhood to collect empties to return to supplement her income. To survive!
