I was just denied access to the ICE processing center at the Whipple Building.

Members of Congress have a legal right and constitutional responsibility to conduct oversight where people are being detained.

The public deserves to know what is taking place in ICE facilities.
JUST NOW: Huge mass of agents in a standoff, weapons drawn as Reps. Ilhan Omar, Angie Craig, and Kelly Morrison attempt to conduct congressional oversight at the Whipple Building, which has been HQ for thousands of ICE agents.

Children are being exploited. Let’s respond by dramatically hindering our ability to point out or criticize children being exploited, using methods we don’t understand because we’re old and incurious.
Children are being exploited and abused because Big Tech consistently prioritizes profits over people.

Enough is enough. Time to sunset Section 230.

I feel like yesterday will start the end of conference championship games. Better to help teams rise than accidentally knock off your top contenders for the playoff. Winning 18 team conference championship games means nothing. Getting multiple teams in the playoff will be the new goal.

you could fact check this — there aren’t 30 million illegal immigrants and there is no evidence that the presence of an immigrant in say houston has any impact on housing in madison, wisconsin — or you could note straightforwardly that this is just nazi rhetoric
JD Vance: "A lot of young people are saying housing is way too expensive. Why is that? Because we flooded the country with 30 million illegal immigrants who were taking houses that ought by right go to American citizens."

Scammers love people who "do their own research." It's basically an advertisement that the person is gullible for a great looking story and willing to just run with whatever they are handed that sounds fun.

Love this statement so much. Politicians are people. They are worthy of praise when they do good things. They are worthy of criticism when they do bad things.

They are not worthy of praise simply for being the right kind of politician.
The funny thing is the people who always bring up Bernie Sanders in my mentions always miss the fact that if I were a fanboy for any politician, it would be Obama. But we shouldn’t be a fanboy/girl for any of these people. They are our employees and we should hold them to work standards.

News headlines keep using their headlines to ask if Trump's 50 year mortgage is a good idea.

It's not.

It's just another method of laundering his attempts to send consumer money to big businesses and their billionaire CEOs while not addressing anything that benefits most Americans.

Two options:

1. Mike Johnson takes up the subsidy bill and says he was always going to. Stealing the credit and making Dems look dumb.

2. He doesn't take up the bill. America and Dems lose even bigger.

A good outcome relies on hope for someone who has proven himself to be an awful human.

The Onion would have rejected this idea as too far divorced from reality. Yet, here we are. I'm on the edge of my seat wondering who exactly FIFA thinks needs a peace prize for Christmas.

It wasn't fake. It was edited. But Reagan really did spend a five-minute speech – an April 25, 1987, national radio address that the Reagan Library has published on YouTube – to rail against tariffs. It was a full-throated expression of support for free and fair trade.

they do, but most people I've brought it up to this week didn't know it was happening. It's kept off people's algorithmic feeds & local news broadcasts aren't talking about it. It's kind of like every other horrific thing they're doing! people are horrified when they find out! IF THEY FIND OUT
do you think normies care about the East Wing being demolished?

Donald Trump is breaching the Constitution and breaking the law.

A show of force so he can militarize our cities because of the 2026 elections.

We need to stand up together and speak up.

There is a gulf in America. I submit it is the gulf between good and evil, or at least not-evil and evil.

The gulf is not just between people who oppose this and people who are indifferent to it or reluctantly accept it in support of immigration policy or see it as collateral damage.

People of Illinois, we need your help.

Get your cell phones out – record what you see. Put it on social media. Peacefully ask for badge numbers and identification. Speak up for your neighbors.

We need to let the world know this is happening – and that we won’t stand for it.
