I think there's more to it ... but not much.
The truly maddening thing is that, unlike when I was a young man in science and the materials and engineering just weren’t there yet, the future is *right there.* The problem is *solved*. What’s holding us back is not just greed, but this bizarre nostalgia, an obsession with petro- masculinity.
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Between tariffs and the government shutdown the US appears to be waging siege warfare against its own population.
Why should you 🫵🏿 care about SNAP? SNAP recipients saw:
- Improved life expectancy
- Lower chance of incarceration
- Lowers chance of poverty
- Lived in better neighborhoods
- Higher human capital
SNAP keeps our neighbors fed, communities safer, and kids educated. Also people are HUNGRY. DUH!

This implies the existence of "just discrimination," which would appear to be the mother of all contradictions in terms.
The Trump administration makes it official:
The refugee cap for this year will be 7,500.
As we reported earlier this month, a bulk of the limited slots will be for white Afrikaners from South Africa and others facing “unjust discrimination.:

All roads lead back to (woke?) Reagan.
The Reagan administration ended the construction differential subsidy program, which had historically helped U.S. shipyards compete with foreign builders. And even then they weren't exactly setting the world on fire.

Another reason you need almost need a PhD to navigate AI for research - you need to be an expert to separate wheat and chaff.

It can be incredibly useful - but the downsides are substantial relative to price. It still hallucinates, it disregards standing orders while saying it will comply, and it's rate of hangups (spinning its wheels indefinitely) has increased.
