Biden did a lot for cancer trying to reduce cancer mortality with his Cancer Moonshot initiative. Cancer truly is the worst. I wish him recovery. This is a terrible diagnosis.

The real-world effects of tariffs will start coming into view and reaching the American workforce and consumers in about a week.

Even if they're reversed, suspended, or canceled, COVID was a very recent reminder that global trade is not a light switch.

This time we don't have a virus to blame.

LOL look what pops up on my tl immediately after I hit “post” on my last tweets (what else do we call these posts on this here app?)
Dad of two young girls here and I was already a feminist but still shocked by how much the boys are coddled and how the girls are expected to accommodate their behavior even in grade school

Watching the new OKC Bombing doc on Netflix. Surreal to see again what I saw on the TV many years ago. Back then I couldn’t make sense of what I was seeing. Immediately called my Grandma for comfort and help!

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

One of the best and highest uses of a government is to provide goods that are uneconomical to be produced locally but have massive surplus if produced at all. Particularly notable examples include:
* disease and weather forecasting
* basic science, esp in energy/health
* natural disaster insurance

No. Parents need to raise their kids to be better humans. Teachers need to be paid more and be provided more support. Administrators and law makers need to provide more resources and aide to these schools. Cameras ain’t gonna do a damn thing to help anything
Should all classrooms have a secure live feed that parents can watch at any time?

I am honestly amazed at how long the rest of the world has taken in coming to this conclusion. Our elections are ass. Republicans are a threat to *human existence itself*.

I would very much appreciate if Apple finally understands that Reggae, Dancehall, and Soca are three very different and distinct genres.

I'm fine with a period piece that's set in ancient Egypt though. Because they bathed up to four times a day. Their sewage system was on point and they've been cleaning their teeth since 5000 BC.

WholeFoods is gonna be the hardest for my household, but we’ll figure it out.
WholeFoods, Amazon Fresh, the new AI-enabled Alexa project, WaPo = easy to boycott. Can’t do that with cloud services. Which leaves Amazon. I say keep it but cut WAY back. There are other substitute, non-oligarch stores that can even price match but sometimes Amazon is necessary for edge case stuff

Some of the people responding to this are under the impression that the 250,000 cancellations are a response to yesterday's Bezos memo. No, it was the reaction to pulling the Harris endorsement. More to come, I’m sure. www.washingtonpost.com/style/media/...
After non-endorsement, 250,000 subscribers cancel The Washington Post
Post staffers press for answers on loss of readers and trust after owner Jeff Bezos explained why the paper would no longer endorse presidential candidates.
