Again, in Both Sides Are Bad™:
Biden *went to court* to maintain Title 42 — an insane and, in my view, facially unlawful policy — for a full year after taking office. Then when he wound it down he moved to replace it with an even more stringent policy that was literally designed by Stephen Miller
Title 42 migration restrictions have ended, but Biden’s new policy is tougher
President pledged as a candidate to dismantle Trump’s hardline immigration agenda but new rules are more restrictive

Just going to note again, because somehow we've all completely retconned this and I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, that pound-for-pound Biden had one of the most draconian border security regimes of any U.S. president ever, second only to Trump, *many of whose policies he inherited and kept*
Not going to read them all because jesus fucking christ but this is nasty work from Friedersdorf

My other Tori double CD set is now complete! The first one is a digipak with two CD holders, with a cardboard stand-in for the second CD, which I've now switched in. It feels like I've unlocked something. They're in great shape for being more than 30 years old! Look at those 1994 tour dates.

Americans need a new curse word that's as bad and vulgar as the C-word but gender-neutral and not misogynistic. I need something to call these people.

It is just mind-boggling to me that for generations courts basically just presumed that the government was telling the truth. Both officially and unofficially. How is that not a clear case of unfair bias? Plus, the government has more incentive to lie than just about anyone in any court.

The more work I do in public schools, the less I understand about their scheduling.

When I was in HS we had block scheduling: 4 classes a day, every day for a semester, then 4 new classes after winter break. Some of these schools I work with have as many as 5-6 different possible daily schedules.

We must destroy Palantir.
SCOOP: Tensions at Palantir have grown in recent weeks over the company's work with ICE.

On Friday, CEO Alex Karp tried to calm concerns in an hourlong video that offered few specifics—instead offering NDAs to workers who want to understand how it's empowering ICE.

I found out yesterday that my glucose monitors have been recalled, which explains a recent spate of false alarms. My new ones are in, but I'm stuck for tonight.

My low-sugar alarm just went off, saying my glucose was 68, but a finger-stick showed it to be 103. That difference is ridiculous. 😡

journalists need to stop saying “immigration enforcement” and start saying “ethnic cleansing.” DHS and ICE are forgoing immigration laws and procedures; they are abducting anyone who looks latino/hispanic. the facts are extremely clear that this is a white supremacist ethnic cleansing project.

A teacher friend just told me that the Reynolds School District has apparently proposed ZERO COLA raises, ZERO pay-step increases, AND they want to claw back previously granted benefits/compensation.

In ANY political environment this would be outrageous. Right now? It's completely unspeakable.

I am so riled up about this. This project was under way before he was elected and now he's like "Wait, I'm in the dark about this!" You are? Then that's your fucking fault.

And why do churches several blocks away matter here? I don't trust this representative one bit.
The project has been in the works since 2021 and has already begun construction.

Rep. Nelson, who is Black, says he's "95% in support" but is raising questions about whether or not the outreach process used a racial equity lens.

Teachers/directors don't seem to understand that "Xth Period" is a meaningless phrase to anyone outside of their school.

I work at like a dozen schools in at least 5 districts. None of their scheduling schemes are even slightly the same. You gotta give me actual times.
