My understanding is the reason Gio brought this up is that the *Homestuck crew*, after initially lying and saying ‘we’re happy to drop old beef and work with you’, randomly reversed course and threatened to sue unless Gio made a public apology for supposedly being in the wrong 4 years ago. I think-

Extremely smart of Netflix. Whatever Sesame Street costs, it's almost certainly a fraction of their usual production costs for series, there's probably some sort of tax break in there, and the goodwill Netflix just earned is a publicity multiplier.

By the way, this is *not* just about porn. While they certainly want to get rid of all porn, this is also a loaded gun aimed at the expression of the LGBT and other marginalized communities.
