And let's not forget the impact of Long COVID on individuals, on families, on the NHS and care homes, on businesses, on the wider community, and on the economy.

2️⃣ The report says:

> “There are 800,000 more people out of work due to ill health than before 2019.”

Yet it never asks what happened in 2019–2020 to cause that shift.

You can’t fix a workforce crisis while pretending the pandemic didn’t happen.

1️⃣ 🧵 NEW: The government’s Keep Britain Working report claims to tackle the UK’s crisis of ill health & economic inactivity.

But it never mentions Long Covid.
Not once.
Not the pandemic either.

That’s not a small oversight — it’s a fundamental flaw. Let’s unpack why 👇

COVID-19 vaccine surely should be available for all, free of charge, based on their individual health needs.

ME/CFS is a devastating condition that has long been denied, dismissed, psychologised and underdiagnosed. Research is at last starting to catch up with it, with glimmers of hope for those who have been left untreated for so long.

Scottish Government funding? Just £9.70 per patient per year.

The (ongoing) adverse impact of SARS CoV 2 on our children is a scandal, particularly when so much could now be done to prevent it. Big week for @cvcev.bsky.social & @longcovidkids.bsky.social at the UK Covid Inquiry. Wishing you the best of luck in forcing those responsible to be held to account 🍀

If you thought you'd heard it all where it concerns explanations for increased demand for healthcare 'post-Covid' without mentioning the health impacts of ongoing Covid, I refer you to Cabinet Sec Neil Gray's response to the Citizen Participation & Petitions Committee yesterday 😕

Hugely proud that our Founder & Director Dr Sally Witcher is be part of this incredible initiative. Keen to know what your priorities would be for action on healthy indoor air. There's a long way to go to get even health, social care & education settings to take this seriously here in Scotland & UK.
