Edinburgh Covid waste water data: Highest so far this year, although far below the August 2024 peak. Graph going in the wrong direction. 😢

The latest #Covid-19 waste water figures from Seafield, Edinburgh - Not as high as last summer, but trending upwards.

Here's how Public Health Scotland now defines Covid. Seasonal as in every-season Covid, which unusually and unexpectedly skipped a wave this spring. That's surely what they must mean!

From @catinthehat.bsky.social below. Covid levels in Scotland higher than any other time in 2025 right now, but so far still far less than in summer 2024.

Shockingly, the govt. is proposing to revive Tory plans to let the police ban wearing masks at protests. Please sign this petition by @libertyhq.bsky.social today: action.libertyhumanrights.org.uk/page/167409/... Note this would apply to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, not 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, but anyone can and should sign.

Lockdown blamed for developmental delays in children that were tiny babies at the time. 😠 In fact, Scottish data shows percentage of children age 27-30 months in 2022/23 with developmental concerns was very marginally higher than in 2013/14.

Another Guardian article where a headteacher blames lock-downs in 2020/21 for record numbers of pupils with special educational needs. Of course, no mention of the impacts that Covid can have. Nor of other obvious reasons (underfunded schools, more destitution, etc). 😬

Giving everybody access to a healthy diet would make a big difference to public health. Nonetheless concerning to see @theguardian.com uncritically report "findings" from report that appears to attribute 100% of chronic illness, including the steep increase "post-pandemic" (🤦‍♀️) to diet.
