I think everyone should be paying attention to what payment processors are doing to independent game developers right now. Games have been the testbed for a lot of the shittiest ideas going right now and you better believe this effort will broaden its goals quickly
More and more people reporting today that Stripe - the payment processor that Itch said were putting the most pressure on them - now have staff actively confirming that yes, they are censoring LGBT content, adult or otherwise. That this is official company policy.

If there's one thing I'm shocked has survived into the mid-2020s, it's people editing YouTube comments to say "thank you for the likes" or "omg this is my most-liked comment" or something like that.
That seems like the kind of lame, pre-irony online shit that would have been gone by 2014 or so.

WeTransfer just changed their TOS giving themselves permission to train AI on any content you transfer and produce derivative works based on content you transfer that they are allowed to monetize and you are not allowed payment for.

Stop using generative AI. There is no legitimate use of generative AI. There is no “I hate AI but this is ok”. Not everyone is using it. We do not have to “get used to it or be left behind.” Just don’t. Just stop. Delete the app. Close your account. Save some money. Take the first step.
