SOMETHING GOOD.

My wife is a breast cancer survivor. When she went to her last appt, the clerk said that b/c of the bad economy, cancer patients there cannot afford to pay their $25-$50 copays

They would go without treatment; but, the facility has set a fund to pay the co-pays for them.

I grew up in the late 60s and 70s. I *never* thought I had it harder than my parents, because for "photographs" existed, and I saw my parents and their homes in the 40s and 50s. I thought those times looked *awful* and I still do. But people who complain now relentlessly idealize the past.

Sandwich verdict wasn’t jury nullification. It was failure to prove the required “reasonable fear of physical injury” in a case where the agent was wearing A BULLETPROOF VEST. The only crime was the waste of resources on this case. My thoughts in @MSNBCDaily.

Opinion | The sandwich thrower was wrong. But Jeanine Pirro was, too.
To establish a forcible assault, jurors were required to find that Dunn caused “reasonable apprehension of immediate bodily harm.” That allegation was laughable.

I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.

This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.

Bullies gain power when their misconduct succeeds in causing righteous people to yield in the face of wrongdoing. That’s why voting for Trump's continuing resolution - without any protection against his health care cuts or his growing illegality - is a mistake.

I voted NO.

The best way to control a narcissist is to *recognize* his manipulative behavior and then set and *maintain* appropriate boundaries. Note: all of his behavior is manipulative and self-serving, so *maintaining* appropriate boundaries is the only way forward. If not, we all lose.

This case specifically challenges a Mississippi law, allowing mail-in ballots to be counted as long as they are received within five business days after Election Day.

More than 30 states in the U.S. have similar laws.

SCOTUS taking this up before the 2026 midterms is….something.
The Supreme Court did grant review of one case today, Watson v. Republican National Committee, and it's a big one over state laws allowing the counting of ballots cast by Election Day but received after Election Day.

Here's the docket: www.supremecourt.gov/docket/docke...

Democrats have to stop bailing out Republicans from facing the consequences of their own policies. And yeah, that means they have to stop sparing voters from experiencing what GOP government truly means.

Every time Dems step in, it only emboldens the GOP & they make it even worse the next time.
So Democrats get:

1. A CR that will prevent the GOP from facing the wrath of Americans for a shutdown over the holidays

2. A coupon for one (1) meaningless ACA vote that will fail

3. An end to the illegal RIF/SNAP moves that are already before the courts

Those all seem like wins for the GOP.

Hassan

Understand This Fact: Chuck Schumer is behind this. None of these 8 are up for reelection in 2026. Schumer asked them vote yes—they agreed. He's such a coward that he folded and won't even own it.
