People talk all the time about not getting jokes because of autism, but I think there’s a second phenomenon of knowing something is probably intended as a joke and still just finding it to be the most unfunny or tasteless shit imaginable

I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

I fully agree with folks who say online friends are real friends, always have and always will, but - and maybe it’s a hot take - I don’t think they’re a *replacement* for IRL friends
You do still need an in-person support group. It’s SUPER important. We as a species need that kind of connection.
