I first wrote and cron’d the script that makes these @NWSSPC upper air maps in November 1998. It’s been running and making the twice-daily UA maps for the past 27 years at this URL: www.spc.noaa.gov/obswx/maps/. That’s over 138,000 maps online and it’s still going!

in 1984, after SCOTUS allowed conferences/schools to negotiate CFB TV contracts themselves instead of everything going through the NCAA, this was the very first new deal signed.

That’s a new way of thinking about wildfire loss in CA for me.
On average over the past decade, we have lost 8000 homes per year. That's about 7% of the new housing built per year in California.

Oh man. If his last minute on the court was last year's tournament game where he jawed with and actually blew a kiss toward a losing team's fanbase, it's a humiliating end to what was, by most measures, a stellar career. (Four national championship games!! In his heyday, he was at the top.)
Did Ted Valentine secretly retire? It doesn't appear that he has worked a game this season.
