After the 14:30 mark in the 2nd half, Michigan scored on 21 straight possessions, spanning over 12 minutes.
Michigan was trailing Northwestern by 16 with 14 mins to play and won by 12. What changed?

Michigan played its two bigs together much more than typical -- almost the entire rest of the game -- and only switched 1 through 3 on defense.

Air Force is on the verge of history...currently owning the worst net rating in conference play in the internet age. With 7 games left, the Falcons are 0-13 with losses by 8, 12, 15, 15, 17, 23, 24, 28, 29, 34, 37, and 42.

Just now discovering Devin Booker #3 is playing college hoops.

Houston's offensive profile is incredible. Moved up to 4th in offense after the BYU win and down to 365th in 2PA distance, finally passing Mississippi Valley State. Just amazing.

On hand for BYU-Houston. It's a full house and most of those in attendance are NBA scouts.

Congrats to UNC, but when I'm commish, doing the Steph sleepy time celebration will be a 10-shot technical foul.

St. John's - UConn definitely feels like one of those games where national groupthink will heap praise on the winner and not reevaluate their opinion of the loser.

Cincinnati's Moustapha Thiam did not play against West Virginia tonight due to a leg injury. Do not be surprised to see him shut it down to preserve his 17-0 record on jump balls this season.

Wow, there was a blank in the Canada/Italy game. I have 6,415 ends in my database from mixed doubles world competition over the past decade and there are just 11 blanks in it.

Portland over Gonzaga turned into not only the upset of the year in D-I, but is the biggest upset across all three NCAA divisions so far this year. (Using David Rothman's classic formula.)

I have turned on the H.U.M.A.N. poll updater. If you completed a ballot before the season, you can see how close you are to being declared Champion Ball-Knower of the Year: kenpom.com/ballot.php

Would be the funniest story if Gonzaga's only 2 losses before the tournament were to Michigan and Portland. (This would be the upset of year, obvs)

In its defense, it did feature UNLV having a 5 point lead and the ball with 6 seconds left and losing in regulation in a tremendously comical way, so there was at least a payoff.
The least watchable game in college basketball history just concluded.
Fresno State 98, UNLV 96.
Free throw attempts: 80.
Fouls: 61.
Players fouled out: 7.
Interminable reviews/appeals: lost count.
Time outs used by each team: all of them.
Length of game: 2 hours, 55 minutes.

Not often you see a team down 32 with under 10 minutes left get their win probability off the 0.0% floor, but Syracuse did it.
February 3, 2026 at 2:39 AM
All true, but never forget that they would be unbeaten had they not fouled up 3 against Stanford.
Saint Louis downs Dayton 102-71.

Billikens are 21-1—with an ELITE defense, let alone a well-lubricated offnse.

An obvious Sweet 16 contender.

And the Final Four might be on the table if they keep this up.

For @thehoopshq.bsky.social, Loyola Chicago has gone from preseason A10 contender mourning the late Sister Jean to 5-17 and 318th in KenPom. It’s a precipitous, injury-fueled collapse for a program with unusually strong support and basketball tradition.

Many of the pro-style acquisitions so far have been terrible at basketball and the college hoops sky-is-falling narrative has been overblown. Curious to see what impact Bediako has (though he isn't even mentioned in any official communication from Alabama, 30 hours before his potential debut).
