I count 10 cities in 2025 that are on track to have the fewest murders since at least 1970. Newark is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1956 (though only have data through Oct this year) and San Francisco is on pace to have the fewest murders since 1942.

It's chef's-kiss perfect that college basketball teams are all too willing to play games in NBA arenas, and now the NBA is open to finding a way to get its games on college campuses.

Some news to share: After 25 years, today was my final day at the N&O. I moved to Chicago in October, but I was commuting and working remotely until the paper ended that agreement as of today.
I knew when we moved the end was near. That was my choice. It was time. I just wish it wasn’t so abrupt.
