THIS x 1,000,000. Honestly I don’t know who this person is (this clip popped up on social media) but I would vote for them tomorrow.

Some interesting numbers on the decline for clickthrough rates from Google thanks to AI summaries and overviews. It's basically the apocalypse for publisher revenue.

A couple of originals are still available too. We have corgi, dachshund, & French bulldog artwork. And that's just for starters.

The hand of Old Croghan Man, a 2000-year-old bog body that has been naturally mummified in a peat bog. The man's apparently manicured nails led to speculation that he was not someone who engaged in manual labour. Based off the man's arm span, he stood approximately 6'6'' tall.

A very succinct summation of why AI isn't going to be the thing they say it is. There's no road to there from where we are.
In other words, when you ask for example “do vaccines cause autism?” you are looking for information about whether a thing in the world (a vaccination) produces an outcome (autism). But the LLM can only answer “what words could sound right after this?”

Perhaps we *do* need to start anthropomorphising LLMs - not as reliable researchers or trusty assistants, but as familiar spirits or demons. They WILL lie and deceive, and twist your words, and seek to get you into trouble, while following the letter of their instructions.

Ireland has around 1% native forest cover left, out of an estimated original of 80%. How do we, as a nation, care for that little that somehow managed to survive?

Pack them with highly invasive species like feral goats or sika deer, which ensure the forests will, over time, die off.

That's how.
