Honestly an excellent introduction to shmups. Multiple difficulties and modes, lots of characters, fun stages and bosses. Highly recommended, and it can be picked up for a few bucks during sales.

I was responding to a few final emails for the year and kept thinking "they should really ask an expert." Then it occurred to me that they're asking me these questions because I'm the expert and I don't know when this transition happened but I was definitely not consulted on it.
