Nope, nitrites alone no good as an indication for needing antibiotics for a UTI. (i.e. can be positive in asymptomatic bacteriuria)

Pertussis is extremely serious for infants; one-third of infants with pertussis require hospitalization, and 1 in 100 of those babies die. Vaccination is recommended early in the 3rd trimester of each pregnancy to protect the newborn.
