The fact that four hostile drones tried to hit Zelenskyy’s plane & it’s barely a blip in the news cycle should terrify everyone. We’ve been dragged so deep into the chaos era that an attempted strike on a world leader doesn’t even break through. When this becomes normal, the world is in real danger.

Standing up to a tyrant - who is willing to impose pain as leverage to compel loyalty or acquiescence - is hard. You can convince yourself that yielding stops the pain and brings you back to "normal".
But there is no "normal". Submission emboldens the tyrant. The threat grows.

Buzzed by a helicopter flying low over our neighborhood around 11 last night. One could hear it in the distance for hours after dark yesterday and again tonight. Who knew late night helicopter wash could solve so many urban issues? Take comfort Portland - we’re saved.

I live in Portland. We’re going to have armed visitors come save us. Part of me wants to just mock the absurdity, to have a quiet picnic across the street from the ICE facility because one could. The seriousness of the issue, however, has me looking for ways to better expose the absurdity of it all.
